Description
I'm a Special Assistant with Councilmember Gallo and saw the post below on the Glenview Neighborhood Yahoo group regarding unsafe conditions at the intersection of Beaumont and East 38th Street:
"I am sorry to report this news. Another bad accident tonight at Beaumont and East 38th, luckily there were airbags that were employed, but the crash was bad and if there had been passengers... The visibility at this corner is horrendous. The sun was setting right in the driver’s eyes, and the rise of the hill obscured oncoming cars, and the median is slightly overgrown again. This is adjacent to our middle school. WE NEED A TRAFFIC LIGHT THERE IMMEDIATELY. I ask the City leaders and their engineers, why can’t you deal with these interesections appropriately? Nearby residents fought for a light, but the City only agreed to re-stripe, which isn’t enough. People deserve the minimum in traffic safety, which would be a light at complicated crossings, particularly with kids involved.
KEEP GLENVIEW KIDS SAFE! I will forward my email to the City, but please consider writing them as well about the streets around Edna Brewer, specifically the intersections at Park and East 38th, and Beaumont and East 38th. No other city would put up with this. Thanks."

I'm willing to let OakDOT decide on three best solution to the problem, but this area can be challenging to cross.
At 3AM last night, I noticed a lot of broken glass and a cell phone on Beaumont, so it looks like another big accident

The walk sign should turn on with every cycle.
