Description
As previously reported, this lot is full of garbage, but now many encampments have been set up, entire area looks like what the white slough used to look like.

Encampments are the result of the politicians mindset that we have elected.. Just like in the San Francisco area
They have empowered the homeless here in many ways

I know these are not conventional or proper solutions but how long are the hard working tax paying citizens of this city going to tolerate these bums and their garbage, theft and crime?
Why can this city throw these bums out of town?
We need a local sit/lie ordinance in Vallejo.
VPD needs to enforce trespassing, loitering, and park curfew laws.
This town is overrun by vagrants that have more rights than tax paying citizens.
Time to show these bums the door, please, enough is enough, how mush longer will the residents of this city have to put up with this filth?

As previously mentioned, Code Enforcement Officer DAVID SIDIE has an active case on the property, case reference CE18-2116.

SeeClickFix is one of the many tools available to the citizens of Vallejo to report non-emergency issues. We “close” an issue in SeeClickFix once we've acknowledged the complaint; however, this issue is not "Closed" per se; it will remain an "Open" case with us until it is corrected. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know. Thanks again for using SeeClickFix!

Re-opening this issue adds it back to the queue and prevents us from receiving/processing another complaint. Please note that we already have a case on this reported issue and are currently addressing the violation(s). Since this is occurring on private property, there is due process involved and the City must first seek voluntary compliance of the violations from the property owner to fix the violation(s). This process may not yield a quick response, but we do our best to work with the property owner to get the violations corrected.

Really, are you saying you can only process one issue at a time?
Let's talk about process, I've driven by the site and there's clear H&S violations that the police can act on immediately, without the owners authority or consent. As a matter of fact the owner has the responsibility of protecting their property from H&S violations and could be liable to the city for correction of those violations.
While Vallejo asks for permission other cities in the Bay Area take action for benefit of their communities and law abiding citizens. This is why Vallejo looks like it does.

What a weak sauce excuse,
Also as per City code, once an issue with Code Enforcement has been resolved, a repeat of the same violation within one year there is no longer any warning or citations, it’s an immediate penalty/fine/levy.
What is the case number?

William this is just part of a larger problem...
There are individuals who roam our city looking for vacant business and rental properties so they can operate their criminal enterprises, be it chop shops or drug/sex houses. I suspect VPD follows the same process here, ask the property owner for permission to take action. Meanwhile tens of hundreds of tax paying citizens witness and report the crimes either via 911 or this site and nothing happens because of current process (or call prioritization [which we saw on a recent KTVU story involving a toddler in a window] is a problem). Many citizens are impacted as the crime spreads into the adjacent neighborhoods while the current process takes months and may not resolve anything.
This and the homeless issues reported (like this one and many others which also attract similar criminal activity) are deplorable. We need to hold our city officials accountable for lack of action to protect our communities from criminal activity and blight, and basic health and safety which the city is responsible for enforcing.
While our city officials are distracted by ORCEM and other controversial agendas Vallejo is going down in flames. I've lived in the Bay Area all of my life and in Vallejo for a little over 3 years, and while the economy has been on the rise our city has been in demise. It's pretty sad.
I thought I saw that there was a city council candidate debate coming up, that would be a good place to voice these concerns. Also continue calling and visiting City Hall and posting here so we can continue to monitor and act!

I've lived in Vallejo almost 3 years now and I've seen a big increase in the problem all over the city. Sonoma is pretty bad and on my side of town it's becoming more of a problem. Hanns Park has become a homeless campground/crime haven and there is a pack of homeless that have free reign from the Shopping Center to Hanns Park. They pretty much do what they want (drugs, theft, litter, assault) with no regard for other people's safety.
I call 911 to report crime, no response. I post on this website, some response by city employees but VPD is a black hole (by that I mean their tracking system provides zero detail and I don't actually see them around these parts, specifically the Community Division that should be checking up on these things).
To summarize I totally agree with you William. It is not a priority for the city. Well, in about two years with the status quo the homeless will be eating VPD, city hall, and their outdated policies if something isn't done.
I'm really surprised also that more people aren't commenting on these types of posts. This is a SERIOUS problem that needs URGENT attention.

Endless freebies- least - lax enforcement of laws
Our state and city are a magnet for the homeless
And criminals....The people that would help us their hands are tied.. They must follow the new lax laws
They must protect the rights of all dirt bag leaches or be sued

I vote to keep reopening this issue as many times as necessary, that way it cannot be archived and shut down all the comments.

Thank you for your comment. Per the City of Vallejo's Municipal Code, the process starts with seeking voluntary compliance (of the violations) from the property owner to fix the violation(s). This process takes time and may not yield a quick response, but since this is private property, there is due process involved. Eventually, the code enforcement officer will file to obtain an abatement warrant if the owner fails to remedy the violations in a timely manner. In the meantime, we ask for your patience during this process. If you have additional questions, please contact us at code.enforcement@cityofvallejo.net or 707-648-4469; if you have specific questions regarding the case, you may ask for CE Officer Sidie.
