I am all for a Block party. But this is an safety issue for not only the participants but for the neighborhood and its neighbors. The drinking and driving, the disrespect for our property. I found a group of 5 male and females, drinking and smoking pot on my front steps. Not cool. I am not hosting the party. When you call the police they do not respond to the situation. I only asked if they could drive by to just control the parking and I got the "We will see send someone if they become available". Disappointing.

A police car just showed up at 44 Diamond St, an hour and a half after my call. Many cars have left, although there are still people hanging out in our street.

The police were on the entrance of the party trying to get people to move on and leave. But there were others hanging out on people's lawns and loitering. No respect. There should be more police presence and maybe permit revised after all these issues arise each year.

Ok the guest at the party apparently were out of line but where did the issue begin? City hall!
Whoever rubber stamped the permit obviously didn’t look into the area pertaining to the gathering. Some areas here can not support extra vehicles and home owners who choose to be left in that part of town should not be subject to abusive guest from other areas especially if it’s an on going problem.
Lastly parking on Diamond St has been attrosis for years beginning on Blake & Diamond where they park on the side walk right to the end where the no parking signs are ignored. Notifying the police does nothing as I’ve been told “ we will take care of it”or “an officer will be sent down” and the situation stays the same.

What more information could you possibly have needed? There were dozens of cars, hordes of people, some with liquor in hand, no parking left on the streets for residents, people arguing with residents about parking, police inaction. This was not a neighborhood Block party but one that was orchestrated for back to the university fall session. Flyers left on residents ‘ cars made that very clear. Who in this city agreed to this event in a residential neighborhood?

Before Parking closes this issue I wish they stated what they will do in the future with the issues we have been having with this kind of Event, Block Party. What steps will be taken in order to stop all these issues from happening again.
