Description
With the MTA route and bus stop removals, more people will need to walk along Arthur Kill Rd towards the East Service Road. The DOT installed guardrails last year, but no sidewalks. There's poison ivy and random concrete blocks and steel sticking out in the footpath. This is unsafe for pedestrians walking back and forth to their homes and becomes even worse in the winter as the plows leave the edge piled with snow, forcing commuters to walk further into the roadway. This is a truck route, and cars often speed through this area. Many times the cars stop inside the crosswalks, and even past it into the intersection box. It's very hazardous to walk and cross in this area. Many times I have been very close to being hit or run over.
