Could you please share the process of how funds become available? Are you saying $$ for this repair is not already budgeted? Thank you for the information
As requested almost 2 years ago, with whom does the decision to fund the repairs reside? I guess we'll have to contact Councilmember Jung's office for the answer? 2 years seems like more than enough time to get this answered and addressed.

To answer the question posed by HRDiva on 1/11: The programs governing concrete repair/replacement are K5043 and K5054. Both of these programs were placed "on hold" as noted in the FY21 capital budget.
The FY22 capital budget is currently in development. FY22 begins in July.
We apologize for the delays and any frustration this may have caused, and thank you for your patience.
Thank you very much for the information and for the follow through.
We will take a look at Cap Budget and share our concerns with the appropriate elected officials.
Stay safe.

Good afternoon - thanks for taking the time to reach out.
Workmanship aside, spall repair is a "correct" stopgap method to restore function, extend the life of the curb, and protect the abutting pavement until permanent repairs can be made.
In this case, in-house stopgap repairs were requested because the maintenance program handling replacement work was defunded in the last budget cycle.
In any case, your location has not been removed from the repair queue and will be serviced as program funding comes available. Please be aware that the repair queue is extensive so it's difficult to forecast exactly when service will occur.
Thanks again for taking the time to reach out.
While spall repair is the correct repair, to effectively protect the base curb and adjacent pavement it must be done properly. This is where”workmanship” is key. A proper repair would not exhibit cracking a few days after placement. Therefore protection of the adjacent pavement and underlying curb has been negated.
Also, this issue was first reported in 2018. Using a budget freeze in 2020 as the reason for the further delay doesn’t add up.
Thank you for your response. I too will be contacting Councilmember Jung’s office to question the status and timing of repairs.
Thank you for contacting the Howard County DPW Bureau of Highways. This issue is now closed in Tell HoCo. If you require more information, please contact Department of Public Works Highways office 410-313-7450.
