Description
The street sweeping enforcers of New Haven say that they post their signs 48 hours in advance to warn residents about upcoming street sweeping/towing. They also say there is an alert that goes out. I know this because I moved here last month and learned by having my car towed.
This time, the no parking ban signs were posted LESS THAN 24 HOURS in advance.
I took a photo of my street in East Rock on Monday at 6:45 am (attached - note times the photos were taken), knowing that the opposite side would be cleaned Tuesday at the same time and signs should have been posted Sunday. When I went out that morning to confirm this, there were NO SIGNS POTED ANYWHERE.
If the city is going to tow and tag, then they need to uphold their timeline of posting the signs 48 hours in advance.
I also saw cars being towed from the street BEFORE the ban was in effect, at 6:45 am (no parking is for 7am-3pm).
New Haven street sweeping folks, what gives? Be consistent or stop ticketing and towing.

Mila3737 I literally went through the exact same scenario when we moved here in August. I'm sorry you experienced that.
@Department of Public Works:
That's strange, I called your office and was told that signs are posted 48 hours in advance.
With regards to your website, what about residents who don't have internet access? What about new residents who don't know about your websites? I brought this up last month, but there is no information on the residents page of New Haven about street sweeping: https://www.newhavenct.gov/cityservices/information_n_assistance/for_residents.htm . This is a town with several colleges in it, and therefore a regular influx of new residents who would NOT know about your website or alerts.
I'll continue to keep an eye on this each month and bring it up as needed, though I'm hoping that the Department of Public Works steps it up and fixes this years old problem for residents.
