Description
With no stop signs from 12th Street to 16th Street, speeding is very bad. Can there by a traffic study done to determine necessity of stop signs or speed bumps to the e installed to lessen the # of speeding cars? Recently a vehicle was going so fast, while turning on to 12th Way, it swerved through my yard, almost hitting a fire hydrant on that corner.

24-hour traffic study has been completed on 61st Avenue N w/of 15th Street and the results are as follows:
E/B = 114 vehicles; average operating speed = 34 MPH and 15 or 13% exceeded 35 MPH
W/B = 326 vehicles; average operating speed = 33 MPH and 21 or 6.4% exceeded 35 MPH
So, the average operating speed was not over the required threshold speed of 35 MPH, however vehicle volume is double of what might be expected for the 26 homes between 12th and 16th Street. In addition there are a significant number of motorists exceeding the 25 MPH speed limit by 10 MPH or greater.
Therefore, we can consider implementation of speed humps if someone will call me and volunteer to circulate a petition to the 26 homes along 61st Avenue N between 12th and 16th Streets. 893-7843
