We also live in the area is this sound does not happen at the same time everyday but is intermittent. This has been going on for a year or two and it is coming from the area of the YMCA. My guess is that one of the mechanical systems at the YMCA is setting off an alarm when a threshold value is reached that shuts down the system until the unit is back within its parameter settings where the alarm then turns off and system resets. My guess would be a HVAC unit on the roof of the building. If this is not investigated and fixed, not only will it continue to be annoying to the residents in the neighborhood but may also cause a mechanical failure which could be devastating.

It’s now 8:45am, and the beeping is still happening every 60 seconds. It’s very loud and annoying all night long, since all our window are open because we already took out the AC.

Should I call the police non-emergency line? I just want it to stop. I might start screaming if it’s still happening when I get home from work

It’s is now 10pm on 9/12/2018. The beeping has been happening every 60 seconds for at least 28 hours.

That’s a great idea. They can use their beep finder to locate the beep and then arrest it.

I called the police yesterday. They redirected me to the fire department who said they would “look into it.”

Nothing happened and it’s still beeping every 60 seconds.

I don’t know why the town is calling the YMCA if we’re not even completely sure it’s coming from there.

It’s now been TWO NIGHTS of trying to sleep with a beep every 60 seconds. This is completely unfair to all neighbors and I don’t understand what Malden wont do anything.

The counselor for ward 4 should step in and mitigate the buck passing. You should give Ryan O'Malley a call and insist that he check into a problem that continues with resolution in sight. Somebody needs to be held accountable.

The alarm has begun to sound constantly and it has been traced back to the Malden Housing Authority Building at 120 Mountain Ave.

MHA has been notified and I am awaiting a response.

I can hear it, started before noon today (9/14) and is still going on.
