Are you kidding me??? Your more concerned about the bike lane than fixing a gas leak. Really??? I think you need to reconsider your priorities the safety of the community, the school, the home's, the businesses are more important if there's a report of a gas leak then a bike lane. Repairs in the city need to be done. You don't see the people that drive cars or walk complaining.
I think they are just upset about the work being done, for some reason, because this area doesn't even have a bike lane. I'm glad they are working on the gas leak, and this person needs to get over it.
It is a repetitive deficiency in the City that Utilities working on City Streets and City Traffic Department do not do advance coordination for priority locations such as this tight, blind, busy, busy (concurrent multimodal activity, bikes, pedestrians with and without dogs and baby strollers, Saturday school buses, fire engines and cars) for signalization, detour, police detail. Eversource had a set up but no support. This endangers their workers, road users and risks a “legal fiesta” in case if accident, for which Eversource rate payers and City resident tax payers would foot the bill. This is just a case in point with additional layer of hypocrisy for excuse that 4 year old gas leak for which City and Eversource could have planned temporary maintenance of traffic, accessibility for ADA, and worker protection. I have thought this through several times and therefore state this is a repetitive deficiency and coordination gap. Eversource needs to come back to fill the small core holes. In the meantime avoid the area if you are wearing high heels or using a cane.
That is an additional constraint that there is not a dedicated bike lane, but there are bicycles. Also street is on the one hand scheduled for reconstruction but usually this requires bike lane markings, but is narrow with elbow point instead of curve. The gas company would replace corroded metal pipes with HDPE. But did not want to come twice, so had been deferring the repair if this particular leak in this location for past 4 years.
Hi Vicki - As Deputy Superintendent Wells stated to you this weekend, when details are not filled due to lack of personnel, available Supervisors traverse the city and visit each of the locations.

Snoopy - this anonymous poster almost certainly was the person who reported this as "Other" too (same photograph in both posts): https://seeclickfix.com/issues/4913141-other
