  It's been my experience that even if you have video and turn it over to the cops, they won't do anything. They've said that you need to call and get an officer over there to witness it themselves.

  Given the possibility that the officer would simply shoot the kids and claim that they felt threatened, I'd be reluctant to make that call. Do you know the kids? Can you talk to the parents?

  I'd never want my kids hanging out in public with anything that could be mistaken for a real gun. If they want to shoot, take them to the range and teach them proper gun safety.
