Description

There is trash all over Bell Rock park, and it continues to accumulate because the city removed the trash bins and never replaced them. Every other public park seems to have trash bins for people's litter so why is this park an exception? The trash is blowing into neighboring yards during windy/rainy days. Please replace the trash bins and perhaps add a recycling bin - Malden forces its residents to use special trash bags to support its recycling program yet doesn't have a recycling bin in a highly visited public park?

That doesn’t resolve the issue. The main issue is that there needs to be trash and recycling bins in Bell Rock park. Please close the issue once that is accomplished.

We are not going to place trash bins back there due to the illegal dumping that was taking place. We are, however, working to see if there is an alternative plan that we could implement. The illegal dumping that occurred and resulted in the barrels being removed is a direct affect of the Pay As You Throw program. This is the real issue here and should be addressed.

Mr. Mayor, it would be extremely helpful if explanations like the one you provided were provided in original responses to problems. Not providing them makes it look like citizens' concerns are being ignored, and causes resentment, not only with the commenter but also with others who read it. Just nip things in the bud.

The one trash can that was left in the park was left on the corner with easy access to the road for people who would drive up and dump trash. How about having a trash can in the middle of the park? Doing nothing is not a solution. Malden deserves better and the Malden veterans that the park memorializes deserve better than a trash filled park. Do better Mayor.

The mayor thinks we should be impressed that he walks around picking up trash. I for one would be impressed if he could come up with a solution for the Pay As You Throw Mess
