It's coming from either the duplex house at 57 and 59 Oak St or the big white house next door to it on its left. Small chance it's coming from a backyard on High St right behind either of those two houses. This is the second time they've let loose with mortar sized volleys in the last month or two. I reported it as 135 Oak in order for the map pin to be closer to the real location.

They've been doing this for years. it'll only get worse as the weather gets nicer. I've called the cops. They do nothing,

Oh really, lets see what happens the next time it happens and I press formal charges. Say hello to a felony record and tell those children to stop complaining when one of them gets injured because there parents think its fun to store explosives.

Well, John Doe--there's this thing called PTSD, and unfortunately, many people are affected by it. These loud bangs sound an awful lot like gun fire and bombs, and that can trigger unpleasant thoughts, memories, and can have an overall poor effect on peoples' health. I'm a firm believer in live and let live, but when the actions of an individual directly have an adverse affect on other people--there is a problem.

It's because of people like you that this website exists. I encourage you to participate in the spirit of this community as someone who has the courage to speak out about the wrong that you see in your daily life, not silence those that would.

Well, John Doe, technically, it wouldn't be "catering" to me, it would be enforcing laws that already exist. In case you're not bright enough to figure it out on your own, fireworks are illegal in CT. I'm taking about real fireworks, not those stupid sparklers you but at the grocery store.

And it is easy for one with PTSD to avoid 4th of July festivities...just don't go.

When you figure out who it is, then call the cops, but I doubt anything will be done. Some people have nothing better to do.

People like you apparently. Leaving this ticket open will help us to determine who that person is or deter them from doing it again. Particularly with the Fourth of July just around the corner.

Stop complaining about the fireworks! They're not harming anyone!!!

Fireworks again tonight on Oak St. in the middle of the street. Cars driving over them and two dozen kids screaming bloody murder in the middle of the street. Two were large scale like before, but the majority tonight were roman candles being fired on the open street amidst cars and property. Arial fountains 30-50 feet high with smaller starbursts. Police have been notified by multiple people.

Who cares! Be grateful it's not GUNFIRE!

This happens every year about this time. It usually starts in June and continues into August. Plus you can hear all the surrounding towns firing off their displays of fireworks and they go to around 9:30-10pm just about every evening in July. I have noticed though that the fireworks "civilians" are getting are more powerful and louder than they used to be. At least it seems that way, and around my neighborhood it's the same people every year who are the ones doing it. I bought some fireworks that the state allows and I do have a few that are not legal, but I won't be tossing those into the street. All us neighbors get together and fire them off in a huge field in our public areas of our neighborhoods. In the 16 years I've lived here, no one has ever gotten hurt, but there's always a first time. That's why no kids are allowed to handle the fireworks in our group. If you haven't gotten used to them by now, then you'll never will..........

Dude Grim! Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention again! Now that it's that time of year again, we will be sure to be extra viligant in our efforts to figure out exactly where they come from. Don't forget, it's a felony to posses a class a firework of the sky bursting type that we've seen burning in the rooftops of our neighborhood last year. Also I'd hate to think what would happen if they were found in a house with small children.

Sadly, I don't think this problem will be taken care of. Happens every year. So, what's left to do?
