Description
Children and families cross the road at Darien and Dixie Trail to get to Lacy Elementary. There is no crossing guard and no sign reminding drivers that they must stop for pedestrians. Daily, cars will zoom by driving 45 - 60 MPH in a 25MPH zone not stopping while we are already in the cross-walk (they are usually coming from the opposite direction). This is very dangerous and I am surprised that no children have been hit yet. I have reported it to the school multiple times and they say Raleigh Police don't want to help. Please provide a safe way for children to get to school!

I've seen many close calls along Dixie Trail from Churchhill all the way down to Darien. Cars diving at excessive speeds inside and just outside of the school zone is a definite safety hazard.
With 2 schools this close in proximity to Dixie Trail there should be a designated crosswalk, preferably with automated flashing lights.
