And they even have new curbs and updated sidewalks! We don't even HAVE a sidewalk in front of 46 Tilton even though the request has been open for months.

When will the city acknowledge this request????

It's nice to know we have been requesting repaving for SIX YEARS.

Is there something the city doesn’t like about Tilton Street that it has ignored requests for six years? It seems like a nice enough street. Certainly as nice, if not nicer than, say, Compton.

Can someone in the public works department let us know what the problem is? Thanks in advance.

I've wondered about this, too. Tilton is a great little street: we have long-time NH residents, young professionals, graduate students, families, a daycare, new construction, and some newly refurbished older homes. I am proud to live on Tilton!

This request has been open since last 9/26/18. No one in the city has acknowledged your request. I suggest you contact your alder or the mayor's office. Especially since you have wanted repaving for 6 years. You will probably have to start making phone calls to try & get any action. You should get others on your street to join you. If your alder does not help you ,you know who to not vote for in the next election.

Phone calls, emails made and sent a-plenty, with responses like this one from the alder: “Woodland and Compton waited 40 years [to be repaved].” Helpful! And from the DPW: funding needs to pass the Resource Allocation Committee, which apparently never meets. “Try engineering” was the latest advice. Tried engineering. No reply.

Can you get someone on your street to run for the alder position for your neighborhood ? Maybe then you will get someone who cares about the neighborhood & lobby to get something done. You don't want to keep reelecting people who do nothing for you.

Our street began putting in re-paving requests in 2013. Six years later, the situation has worsened, and our requests to the DPW, Engineering, and Resource Allocation Committee are unheeded. The current street scrapes up the bottom of vehicles, causes drivers to swerve dangerously, and is hazardous to bicyclists.
