If your intent is to avoid spread of disease might I suggest that you kindly go to the two locations mentioned in your post and inform them to spread the feed out if they are feeding the deer. Seems a bit more logical, friendly, and neighborly to do that before informing the city and getting our local resources involved to hunt down the violators.

Bait means a substance composed of “grains, minerals, salt, fruits, vegetables, hay, or other food materials, which may lure, entice, or attract deer as an aid in hunting.”

Pretty sure no one is hunting between all those houses therefore they are not

Doing any harm, they have been kind enough to feed the deer for many years, that have unfortunately been displaced by the kind citizens as yourself.

KM & KC, and you thought I had too much time on my hands!! : ) . My kids like seeing the deers there. TO: "anonymous": Like I said, I thought I had too much time on my hands. After reading your complaint, I looked up that law. I got thru only a few pages and had to stop. Way too much info! First, they are NOT baiting. They are feeding the deer which will be against the law in January. The disease so far is NOT contagious to humans even if another animal contracts it. In that report, the deers infected were NOT near Washtenaw County. They were in other counties and the DNR wanted to get the lower peninsula to try and prevent the disease. Lastly, it stated over 30,000 free range deers have been tested and ONLY 57 had the disease. Pretty good odds those deers over there are NOT infected. I'm sure someone from the doctors office is feeding them, but its not hurting anybody at the moment. The city won't do anything about it. IF you are that concerned, call the DNR and have them deal with it or have the DNR contact the city. Also, I didn't see anywhere in that report that there is a fine. I'm sure there is.

Michigan on May 20, 2015, CWD-positive deer have been found in Clinton, Ingham, Ionia,
Kent, and Montcalm counties. As of mid-January 2018, after testing approximately 30,600 freeranging
deer, 57 were positively confirmed with CWD, with 48 occurring during the 2017 deer
hunting season
