Sidewalk Safety Hazard, roots growing through walk: The sidewalk tree at 40 Clyde has roots that have grown through the sidewalk. This is a longstanding problem, reported multiple times. The hazard is visible in Google street photos from 3 years ago. It poses a serious safety hazard and risk. Elderly and disabled individuals are forced to walk in the street to avoid this. Sidewalk snow removal is hampered as well.
Approximately 8 concrete panels of sidewalk were repaved recently near the corner of Clyde and Pine, yet this small but seriously hazardous section near 40 Clyde was not repaired.
Please prioriize the repair of this serious safety hazard. The attached photo shows the poor condition in 2012 and the serious trip hazard that still exists in 2015. Thank you.
When Issue 2082345 was marked as a duplicate, the attached photo (Oct 2012/Nov 2015) was lost in the transfer. It's been reattached here as reference. Thank you for consolidating these issues.
Spring is here! During this time of the year the DPW reviews all outstanding sidewalk repair requests. We take the entire list, separate it by wards and then rate each issue from Most Severe to Least Severe. When in your Ward we use this list to determine which sidewalks to start with. Thank you for your patience with this matter.
