Description

I am again requesting a 4way stop at 10th and Lead. Early Sunday morning a driver crashed through my yard. This intersection is dangerous and the news has been out twice now due to the ongoing issues here. I don't think that an additional two stop signs is an outrageous request. Something has to be done about it. What more needs to happen, how much more damage, how many more accidents before the City realizes the issue? Please don't disregard the requests of the neighborhood. Thank you for your time.

You may need to call 242-COPS about this--the 311 site is slow on urgent issues. This is a pretty urgent traffic issue, so I would recommend requesting an officer and/or contacting Valley Command. The city should--definitely--get on top of this, but the cops may be able to move it along through their channels. I can't believe if there was an accident that this wasn't in their report--did they actually come out to the scene?

The police have already been out to make a report but APD has no say whatsoever as to where stop signs are placed. That is completely up to City planning and development.

This isn’t a placement issue; it’s a repair and a safety issue / traffic control issue, which is why APD should be involved.

Ok you may want to call our City Councilor Ike Benton’s office or talk to his policy analyst Diane Dolan at ddolan@cabq.gov. You might get things moving that way. Diane has always been very helpful to me. (505) 768-3186. I get your urgency and frustration.
