Description
This redlight is a complete waste of time and energy (literally on both fronts). It is a "T" intersection. The VAST perponderance of traffic flows N-S on 1st Avenue, and a simple stop sign for traffic on Walnut would suffice to safely manage traffic at this intersection and allow for smoother flow/less backups in the morning and evening as commuters cross Coatesville to and from E. Fallowfiled development and the 30 Bypass.

They should put another light up to oak and 1st.
There are a lot of accidents at that intersection, demanding a need for the light. Didn't you see the new pole they had to put in after flying a man to the hospital?

Show me an intersection that isn't dangerous. That isn't an excuse. The proper way to perform a hazard analysis is risk vs. benefit using a reasonable objective as a goal. The fact of the matter is that the need for this intersection is past it's prime. The entrance to the steel plant is unused and the visual barriers that once existed on the northeast and southeast corners are no longer there. The ratio of traffic coming from opposite ditections is over 15:1. This traffic signal serves no purpose and should be eliminated for proper signage for those heading west on Walnut St to the intersection.
