Description

Several years ago, the Township Engineer promised to construct an asphalt sidewalk from the corner of Rt. 206 (State Rd.) and Cherry Hill Rd. along the southern side of Cherry Hill Rd. to provide a safe means of access to the property of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton (UUCP), a distance of about 125 ft. This would enable Princeton pedestrians and cyclists to access our church grounds safely, given that there are sidewalks on the eastern side of State Rd. and pedestrian traffic control devices at the intersection already.

Users of this sidewalk would include parents and attendees of the Cherry Hill Nursery School, members of our congregation, members of String of Pearls Jewish Congregation, and others who could access a trail into the Mountain Lakes Natural Area via our upper parking lot.
The Township start the project by relocating the guard rail away from the curb to beside the headwall, and the robust poison ivy has been cut back.
We had hoped to see this sidewalk installed last year at about the same time as sidewalks were constructed along the Great Road near Mountain Ave. But, alas, it did not happen then. Now that the improvements to the UUCP Building are nearly complete, we would greatly appreciate the construction of the sidewalk.
Thank you for your consideration.
