Description

I swim several times a week at the North Shore Aquatic complex. The whole complex and North Shore Park, usually beautiful and something to admire about the city is suffering a terrible blight. A considerable mass of rotting garbage, sea weed, vegetation and god knows what else has accumulated along the sea wall at the eastern end of the aquatic complex. It is giving off a really bad smell which can be detected upon entering the parking lots. It has gotten steadily worse as the summer has progressed. The city needs to get some equipment down there are clean it out.

When I lived in Connecticut we had a dead, decomposing whale wash up on the beach. The odor of the whale was an improvement over the smell coming off the bay. Attached are photos of the rotting mass. I got close to the mess to take theses photos and standing near it so so bad I got dry heaves. It is ruining any recreational pleasure associated with area. The effluent odors are toxic and prolonged exposure will cause headaches and respiratory problems. I feel so bad for the life guards who have to endure it all day. I am shocked the city hasn't already done something. Please clean it out!!!
