Description

There is always a traffice backup during afternoon traffic for traffic turning left from Carmel Rd. onto Johnston Rd. due to there being only one turn lane. Two lanes continue straight on Carmel where it immediately becomes one lane after the intersection leading into a residential area. Why can't there be two left turns lanes?

The majority of the traffic is turning left rather than staying on Carmel. During rush hour left turn traffic backs up to Carmel Commons. Cars that don't want to wait go up to the intersection and then wait for someone to let them into the left turn lane.

It would take adding another traffic light and some new pavement markings. As traffic increases this will only become more of a problem the way that it is currently set up.
