Description
I went to this shopping center at Redwood St and Sonoma Blvd last night and the entire area was an absolute Cesspool.
Unsavory people loitering everywhere, homeless vagrants, hobos, RVS, decrepit junk cars with people living in them.
This is a problem here and of course Walmart and across the street from smart and final to the Exxon Gas Station and beyond.
Entire area has s very unsafe and dirty feeling to it.
I have live in Vallejo all my life and have never felt so unsafe in this area.
Something needs to be done to clean up Vallejo.
It’s a damn shame what is going on in this city.
Vallejo in and of itself is a beautiful city with so much wasted potential.
We really need to help the truly homeless get off the street and send all the hobos, transients, and druggies packing.

William, you have seen me comment before so you know that I agree with you but I ask everyone the same question: what do YOUR solutions look like? I think by brainstorming and offering suggestions is a positive way to enact change, but it DOES need to be addressed by City leaders.
Playing whack-a-mole will never fix the problem, and as a society, it's not illegal to be homeless. But there needs to be rules or else we are all just monkeys flinging our own waste from trees. Then, how do you enforce those rules?

If you had statistical crime data for specific areas comparatively for the last 2 years, you could try presenting it to the County Board of Supervisors. They may be helpful, but I think that the media would be more impactful.; Armed with photos (blurring out id's of course) of the areas at their worst, humerous panhandlers, garbage piles, etc.
Oakland or SF haven't figured it out either...

Implement a zero tolerance policy for illegal camping, trespassing, littering, indecent exposure, etc.

Shining a spotlight on the problem may help, so would basic law enforcement:
-Overnight camping
-Littering
-Trespassing
-Drug Use/Under the Influence
-Prostitution
-Warrant Checks
-Parole/Probation Checks
-Stolen Property Checks
-Licensing/Registration Checks
Where is our city law enforcement?

I disagree with that last part about go through instead of go to. Vallejo is the last Mega City, for shopping/ Restaurant/movies and Six Flag.
The ferry alone, makes Vallejo a megacity due to its location, the last stop to San Francisco. Don't be fooled into selling your property in Vallejo believe you me, it is the last stop which makes our property values going to Skyrocket soon. The City of Vallejo like any other city is just a huge Homeowners Association for the property owners.
Unless Property Owners get together hire a law firm and Sue the city for certain things, which will stop the blighted activity, is the only real active way for change, because in the interim there's usually a settlement which prompts negotiations to end further deterioration of the inner-city problems.

Looks like we've got some good feedback going on this topic.
City of Vallejo, perhaps you can provide a status on this issue?
Much appreciated!

Your absolutely right!!!
I just went to the 99 cent only store yesterday. There were two motorhomes-old, beaten up, and beige-loitering in the parking lot. Also, three cars with people living in them with sheets in the windows to block the Sun. And they were rolling big bags of ice to the cars and the motorhomes.

IV. Offences Against Public Health & Safety Chapter 7.66 Hazardous Material Disclosure.
Chapter
7.67 Unlawful Camping and Storage of personal property in public
7.67.030 Unlawful Camping
7.67.040 Storage of Personal Property in public places
7.67.050 Enforcement Procedures BELOW
No Police or Code Enforcement Officer shall issue a citation, make an arrest or otherwise enforce this section against any person unless: {A}. First orally request or orders the person to refrain from the alleged violation of this section, ^ above ^ of Offenses.
This is why the loitering & camping individuals daily move. Because if you can't catch them because of the moving continuously you cannot enforce anything in the ordinance.

This is because of the mindset of the people running our state in Sacramento... We are a deep blue state
Unless there is some type of charge this state will remain a magnet for homeless and criminals
If the people running our state had the mindset of conservative Texans do you think that law would have been changed in 2014 to favor the homeless and criminals who trash our city’s?

The shooter wearing a hoodie for a fashion statement got away
This will continue to be a high crime area because the police have their hands tied by weak laws enacted by the people in Sacramento
That’s just a opinion. Please disagree with me if you wish. Thanks

Thank you for your comments! Code Enforcement Officer Sidie has an active case on the property, case reference #CE18-1992. You may visit our online tracking system, eTRAKiT, to view updates on current cases at http://web.ci.vallejo.ca.us/eTRAKiT3/ (please allow several business days for information to upload).
Since this is occurring on private property, there is due process involved and the City must first seek voluntary compliance of the violations from the property owner to fix the violation(s). This process may not yield a quick response, but we do our best to work with the property owner to get the violations corrected.
