Description
Hey there,
We have an overgrown tree between the sidewalk and road at 317 Oakwood Ave. The tree is going into the power lines and beginning to damage our property by breaking watering lines and pushing up bricks. The cost of fixing our property is now approaching several thousand dollars due to the overgrown tree. The tree roots are also causing a tripping hazard on the sidewalk and a tripping hazard by the front (brick) stairs of our house. We have elderly visitors from time to time with canes and walkers who have trouble navigating the bricks that are being pushed up by the tree. If the tree continues to grow at its current pace it may also become a storm fall hazard by knocking over power lines, damaging vehicles and pedestrians. We would like to have this maple tree removed and will help the city pay for the expense of removal and the replanting of a more appropriate sized tree if needed. The tree looks to have been planted illegally in the early 1980s without a permit and without concern for the sidewalk or city road. I hope that we can work to correct this problem with the city before it becomes a larger issue with the increasing number of hurricanes, waterfall and pedestrians in the Oakwood area. Thanks!
