I agree we need a light or a four way stop at 102 and 125th. It would also serve to slow down the speeders that race from one light to the next on 102nd.

A traffic light is desperately needed at this intersection. There are many pedestrians and cyclists that use this intersection to access the park. It is very dangerous to cross 102nd Ave as traffic speeds up between 113th St and 131 St with no other stops in between. As a driver trying to turn left onto 102nd Ave from 125th St, it is also very dangerous.

Per Florida Statue 316.006, The City of Seminole has traffic control authority on these roads. The County has maintenance responsibility of the road and striping. Any recommendation for pedestrian features would be the responsibility of the City of Seminole.

"Chartered municipalities shall have original jurisdiction over all streets and highways located within their boundaries, except state roads, and may place and maintain such traffic control devices which conform to the manual and specifications of the Department of Transportation upon all streets and highways under their original jurisdiction as they shall deem necessary to indicate and to carry out the provisions of this chapter or to regulate, warn, or guide traffic."

talk about a month long, pass the buck, circle jerk, nothing has been resolved it needs to stay open.

What is the status of resolving this pedestrian safety issue?

The need for traffic signals & rectangular rapid flash beacons (RRFB) are based on crash data, traffic studies, and pedestrian volume. Pinellas County Traffic Engineering Department conducted an extensive study of the intersection of 102nd Ave N. and 125th St. N in 2015. The study looked at crash data from 2002 through 2014. The study concluded the intersection did not meet the warrants for a traffic signal, nor did it meet the pedestrian count for an RRFB. Currently, the City of Seminole does not have plans to request a traffic signal, or RRFB at this intersection.
