Has city staff evaluated this request? Given the large number of UM law students who took the time to file complaina on A2 Fix It, an update would be appreciated.

Thanks for the update. The ticket in your comment requests lighting at the crosswalk, so hopefully staff will provide an update on lighting. Staff identified the crosswalk as one of 131 crosswalks at uncontrolled locations (no stop sign or traffic signal) needing better lighting, but it was rated a mid priority.
I observed the crosswalk at 7 PM on Monday, November 12, 2018. Many students were crossing State Street at Madison, both at the marked (lines on roadway) crosswalk on the north side of Madison and the unmarked crosswalk on the south side. There is a single, old cobra head light on the northwest corner that does adequately light the area.

Correction: That DOES NOT adequately light the area. In addition, the new LED pedestrian lighting on the east side of State Street is attractive, energy efficient and illuminates the sidewalk area for pedestrians. However, it does not light the crosswalk as well as the old streetlights did.

This area received capital improvements as part of the 2023 State Street project.
