You should buy the building if it bothers you so much

What building is in question i noticed the poster did not bother to put that in his or her report

I believe the OP is referring to the so-called "Schwartz Building" at the southwest corner of Congress Square. While I don't think SeeClickFix is the right place to address this issue, I have to fully agree that the condition of this building is tragic. This is one of the most visible intersections in the city, and to have it be empty and papered-over for years on end is a major drag on the area. I guess it's the property owner's right to do nothing with the building, but for the sake of the downtown I wish they'd either make something out of it or sell it to someone who would. I appreciated the light show that occupied the building's windows last winter, but I'd rather have a mixed-use building with residents and businesses adding true vibrancy to the neighborhood.

Just seemed worth a shot. Countless people have tried countless things to this end. This isnt even the only building this company owns thats like this. I just figured our city gave this company $11,000 that could have been spent elsewhere and id think the city having invested in the project would want to see it remedied.

Address is both in title, description, and map at top of page. Hard to miss it made "the 12 dumps of christmas" last winter. The only thing that changes are the lights in the windows.

Since the city has an $11k stake in this, perhaps this report should be directed to the corporation counsel at the Legal Dept instead of to Inspections...
