Thank you for reporting this. If the meter head was yellow then you parked at a 30 minute meter. That would explain why it wouldn't register for more than 30 minutes.

See photo. Meter for spot where I parked has no sticker. The one on the same pole (next to it), says 2 hours. The meter on the left, behaved, as you say, like a 30 min. meter and allowed me to continue putting in coins well after reaching 30 min. of time. I have heard via another source (Palmer Square) that the reason some meters don't have their green stickers is because there weren't enough of them and that all of the meters on this street are supposed to be 2 hours. I believe there is still a problem.
