Description

During the 1960's and 1970's, an "Interstate 687" was proposed where the current Corporate Woods Exit 5A is now located.

It was originally designed to connect with the, as of yet non-existent "Exit 3" of Interstate 87 (the Adirondack Northway.)

Now, while radical plans such as destroying hundreds of homes in the surrounding areas is definitely not feasible, perhaps a few more-modern, future-looking proposals could be looked at, in order to improve transportation around the Capital District for the next 10-15 years.

Maybe somehow a tunnel or elevated highway system could be built, which would fulfill the original concept of enhanced connectivity with the Albany International Airport.
