Woodchips washed away again. The new playground is three months old and the high tide has already flooded/washed it out four times. This playground was built in a floodplane. The woodchips that keep kids safe from a fall keep washing away. A long term solution is needed. I wish there was a follow up community hearing before this playground was installed. This could of been avoided had there’ve been a chance for public input after the initial community meeting was held.

Thanks for your feedback. Additional public sessions were conducted at the Fair Haven Management Team and through the final grant acceptance process at the Board of Alders prior to the final contract and construction.
At least two of the incidents occurred at lunar tides with high rainfall that caused widespread flooding throughout the region. That said, we are reviewing different border systems for the chips to help to keep them in place during these events.
