Before the repairs of South SStreet the sidewalk located in Nonotuck st reached the edge of the street, being easily access for wheelchairs or baby carts, as well as for small children or older.
Today you have to zig zag to cross the street.
The residents of the Nonotuck Street and the Stoninas housing complex are disadvantaged with this new sidewalk diagram.
We ask the city of Chicopee to reveal a pedestrian crossing to make it safer.
One of Loudow Construction's employees says that people should now cross on the other side, because of the unsafe street and pedestrians walking one block to Springfield st or Center st but the sidewalks are not good for baby cars and worse for wheelchairs.
There is a waiting for a practical solution.

Good afternoon,

The cross walk at this location is being eliminated since it was not a safe location. There is a crosswalk at the top of the hill and one lower where the vehicles coming can better see pedestrians crossing South Street. This decision was made due to safety concerns.
