Someone was hit here recently and was in critical condition.

A new shiny cross walk and a sign that says stop for pedestrians do absolutely zero unless the people that break these laws are held accountable by the people we pay to enforce the laws. Seems to be a common theme citywide. Scary......

A traffic light would be of great value at this location

On the Lucky strike side, vehicles are allowed to park so close to the crosswalk that traffic coming from 391 can't see people who are waiting in the crosswalk. This is a terrible accident waiting to happen. We need no parking signs there.

Thank you for using Chicopee Connect. It was painted this past May and crosswalks are scheduled to get done once a year. It will be done again in 2019. It is too cold to repaint this time of year. There are signs at this location for drivers to know there is a crosswalk there.

All you addressed was the painting and none of the other issues that were brought up. Once again Chicopee will do nothing about a safety issue concerning its residents. Let me see you respond to this comment or any of the other ones besides the painting.

That is the only concern you put up that pertains to me. You already stated that they didn't stop for a barrel and a sign in the middle of the road. I can not enforce the laws that others break while driving on the roads in Chicopee. If there is an issue that you have with the enforcement please contact the PD as soon as possible.

That's the OTHER problem. You call, call, call and nothing gets done. You have to have Living, Breathing, Human's that are sworn in as Police officers to ENFORCE the laws. You can't enforce the rules of the road 10 Minutes after it happens. You need PROACTIVE police enforcement in the areas where there is continuous, no-stop, bad behavior. I've barked about EAST St for almost a year and have never seen a CPD cruiser on that street monitoring speed. I drive for a living, I'm on every busy street and NEVER EVER see a cruiser with a car pulled over. I've asked for the total of citations issued on East st in the last 90 days only to be told "patrols have increased and people have been cited".... ya right..........
