It’s the big white bus our city’s mascot and now can be seen on post cards as well as around town trashing the area were ever it stops

2017 tags are not street legal, neither is it legal to camp on city streets.

Windshield is smashed, I believe this makes it a violation, “not roadworthy”. Otherwise....
It has been impounded, multiple times.
His family lives here but are estranged.
Family or homeless advocates get it out of impound for him.

Currently expired registration has so many violations at $200 a pop he should not be able to renew it. Christina keeps adding them every time it’s tagged and is doing everything the law (and resources) allows - so March was the estimated date for the end of it's time, (registration will be 6 months expired).

**City Officials are not allowed to make "personalized" responses on SCF and have been instructed to stick to the "canned " answers. I walked in to talk with Christina & Officer Gomez about this and got the story.

This is why we need our laws enforced no later than 30 day expired registrations. Would the DMV approve and all of us registration, insurance paying responsible road users that are supposedly subsidizing the non payers? What does the Attorney general think of this?

I don’t feel as we are subsidizing them.
They are responsible for the back registration and fines.
The problem is that these vehicles are not being impounded in a timely manner and when they are we have homeless advocate groups/family, etc. paying to get these junkers out of impound.

We are subsidizing them until the fines are paid which in many situations they don't get paid. Also many times they are told to move along without citing and also get 6 months of a free pass of expired registration. Also we pay for higher uninsured motorist costs because of uninsured vehicles like many of these.

Your right we are subsidizing them and their irresponsible bad behavior while they get a free pass. The rest of us pay our registration and insurance.

It is still incurring tickets/citations for the expired registration, illegal parking etc., it just can’t be impounded untill it’s over 6 months. This allows people to get their DMV current without losing your vehicle right away.

They have all year to plan when it is due before the next expiration date. If you are that irresponsible, you probably don't have insurance and shouldn't be driving especially a Bus full of trash falling out all over. Being fined doesn't always equal to being paid. Do they even check for valid insurance and drivers license every time and safety violations and also being fined for littering?
