Description

This intersection experiences a considerable volume of traffic throughout the day and night and yet, because it is a 3-light interchange (Bailey Rd. "t-bones" into Statesville Rd.), NCDOT installed a light that requires that traffic exiting Bailey Rd. pull up to a white line in order to trip the light. There are signs that alert people to this and due to ignorance, the disinterest in reading road signs, etc., drivers just sit there until someone gets out of their car to tell them to pull up to the line. It backs traffic up on Bailey and is an unnecessary feature due to the fact that there are ALWAYS cars exiting Bailey Rd. onto Statesville Rd. It is no longer an intersection that warrants a light that needs to be tripped. This light should be synced with all surrounding intersections.
