I would like to see the 7/11 take some responsibility for the litter that is created from their store on our island. The sad part is that every piece of plastic that starts as litter on Coquina Key eventually makes it to the storm drains and into the surrounding waters. Once in the waters there is no other fate other than that with the other hundreds of thousands of tons of plastic waste in the seas. Capturing from the sea is very difficult. Capturing (or stopping) as litter is very easy. I believe the right to sell products with single use plastics should come with some responsibility for keeping litter removed from their area. I’ve picked up hundreds of trash bags over the years and a large majority is coming from the 7/11. Be a good neighbor.

Remember when there were no littering signs. Did someone steel them? Oh , yeah , That they'll recycle. Put a 10 cent deposit on every bottle. You dont give a four year old matches. When people take some responsibility they can have straws back
