Dear DPW, I understand these leafs are not town leafs and snow is not town snow but the snow gets plowed and the streets seems to be cleaned in the Spring. My concern is that there are so many leafs covering the storm drain and the hydrant area that it would become hazardous when we get the snow, ice etc. In October, I hired my private landscaper (incurring the cost) to clean the end of the street on both sides, however, I live at the top of the hill. Last year when there were so many leafs, I slide down the hill when it become cold, snowy and icy. If the DPW is not responsible for the street, please advise.

Dear DPW...As a Saugus homeowner and taxpayer, I am disappointed with the response obtained from the town. I, myself picked up the leafs that were covering the storm drain. Not my leaves either. I have collected over 11 bags of leaves. This was not my responsibility but looked so disgraceful and a hazard. There are still more leafs around the sand barrel but obviously these will be taken care of by the plows when it snows.

DPW: I have contacted my landscaper to finish the cleanup on the street around the sand barrel, fire hydrant and storm drain. Again, as a homeowner and tax payer to Saugus, I am not happy with the response and lack of cooperation. I have picked up over 12 bags of leafs and cannot do any more physically.. I have contacted my landscaper (Stephanos) to finish with the cleanup today.
