That's a spring .

"Water springs are created when water is filtered through permeable rock in the ground and then flows downhill until it reaches ground level." , here it was drinkable , like a little faucet coming from near the top of the spring in picture , wash one's face..i was believing that there's a drainage pipe leading to the river , probably all rotted

This area is in desperate need of repair. We are already experiencing an increase in extreme precipitation in the NE due to global warming - models forecast a 70% increase in annual precipitation relative to historic averages by 2030-2050. The spring needs improved drainage and the surrounding trail and pavilion needs hardscaping and retaining walls to prevent further erosion caused by flooding. The trail is perpetually muddy and is getting widened by foot traffic avoiding the mud. This only causes more erosion and the destruction of plants at the trail's edge that have historically helped retain the soils on the southern slope. The trail here experiences high traffic volumes by walkers seeking the river's edge. If this area is not addressed, it will only become more expensive to repair later.

No one has acknowledged your request since 12/20/18. Has anyone called their alder or who ever is in charge of the park or spring? I fear your request will just molder here in internet oblivion ,if you do not start calling to get this on peoples' radar.

One more dribble : There are two springs , or used to be , one on each side of the river , Walking towards East Rock down Orange St. on the left hand side , before the bridge go down the train , nice spring ...Then going over the bridge and take a right heading towards Rice fieldi s another - both nice ..any fund set up ?

See Click Fix is a tool, it is not monitored by all municipal departments. It is not perfect. Obviously you still have a problem that has not been acknowledged by anyone. so unless someone starts calling & complaining it will just sit here, unresolved.
