Description
Guardrails with reflectors were recently installed along this extremely dangerous and dark section of Cohoes-Crescent Road.
However, now there are weeds and brush growing right into the travel lanes of the road, and drivers can't even see the reflectors because they're hidden by all the overgrowth!
This whole road needs to be mowed very badly, because soon there won't be a road! There will only be jungle!!!

With all the comments and the amount of traffic this road sees, still nothing has been done to address any of the problems. Year after year, more and more traffic. It is basically the I-787 extension to Route 9, in a make shift way, done by the drivers, instead of by NYDOT.
This is a town of Colonie road, and is the only road this far north that is owned by the town. If this were made a county road, then Albany County would do something, but it would need major improvements to get to the level where the town would take it.
What really needs to happen is for the state to step in, extend I-787, like it was originally planned, and bring it north, along the same route it now has up N. Mohawk, and then along Cohoes-Crescent and tie it into Route 9 with a light, or maybe even a clover leaf.
Anyone know where we can find the numbers for cars per day or week or year that this road sees ?
I am guessing it is about half what 4 & 32 sees, since half the trffic from I-787 is going to 4 & 32 and the other half up this road.
And with the track season, I saw all the roads at least getting patched. Not this one. Why Colonie paved the last 100 feet of the road many years ago, still is a mystery to me. It was one of the least problem stretches of the road and in good shape compared to the rest of the road.
I have crashed along this road, so it is a real pet peeve, and it was in the daytime and I was going less thn 40 when I crashed, thankfuly.
But I am not the only one to wind up in the weeds or the ditch on this road. Many accidents, and I can tell you personally that because of insurance and rates going up if you report the accident, most go unreported, just like the new traffic circles have many more accidents but almost none are reported.
Fonda Road need to be made a dead end at the top of the hill and I-787 extended, that is the only logical choice. I was hoping DOT would do a new bridge to connect Fonda on this side of the river with Fonda on the other side, like it was long ago.
