Description
Due to the number of speeders, a blind driveway sign has recently been placed in front of my home and a speed hump has been place on Brownley drive. My house and neighboring houses sit directly on the hill where speeders frequently use because of the recent hump that was place on Brownley Drive. Often times, the fire truck passses through and it really concerns me because cars are stopped/parked near the blind driveways. If cars or the firetruck are driving at fast speeds, there could be a serious accident. In addition, my neighbors and I experience difficulty backing out of our driveways because there is limited view of cars approaching the hill. With that being said, I would like to request a speed hump to be placed on Pine Forest Rd. Therefore, my neighbors and I can safely exit our driveways.

We are in receipt of your request. Due to the nature of your request, it requires a 30- day study. It is a process. The study will be conducted by Traffic Engineering Department. Once the study is completed, you will be contacted and advised of the next step that will be taken. Thank you for your patience during this process.
Initial Criteria
(1) The street under consideration shall be classified as a local, residential street, with a posted speed of 25 mph.
(2) The street or section of the street being considered shall be a minimum of 1,000 feet long and a minimum street width of 21 feet; cul-de-sacs will not be considered for speeds tables.
(3) The street shall minimum average daily traffic of five hundred (500) vehicles day.
(4) The eighty-fifth (85th) percentile is the indicator used to determine the maximum, reasonable speed by performing a traffic study. If the study indicates that the 85th percentile is, at least, 11 miles per hour over the posted 25 mph speed limit, the petition process may begin at 70 percent. =================================================== **The 85th percentile speed is the speed is the speed at or below which 85 percent of motorist drive on a given road, unaffected by slower traffic or poor weather. This speed indicates the speed that most motorists on the road consider safe and reasonable under ideal conditions. It is a good guideline for the appropriate speed limit for that road. ** ==================================================== If approved the installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of speed tables must be PRIVATELY FUNDED. (The homeowners will be responsible for payment.)

Oh speed hump is a speed table. How much would it cost to get installed. The cost can be divided by the interested neighbors. Several have young kids. If their kids get run over , I would hate to think about them getting angry with the city for doing nothing if we can't afford the cost.
Please make the study be aware that the speed limit is 15 MPH. Not 25mph.
