Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

  I am updating my report of earlier today. There is evidence of water tunneling under the roadway. The hole is now 2ft x 2ft x 8 inches deep. This depth estimate is with broken pavement in hole, who knows how deep it is once all debris has been removed. The sanbag that was previously placed in the hole is gone except for some fabric. Gravatt Drive is a major access route by OFD to homes in Hiller Highlands, If not repaired this hole can lead to more serious issues that cost considerably more to repair.
