We have forwarded this request to the Neighborhood Transportation Department so that they may investigate and take any necessary action. Sincerely, Mayor's Action Center
Transportation Department staff completed a 12-hour daylight crosswalk study on Beach Drive at 11th Avenue NE and conditions were not met for the installation of a new pedestrian crosswalk.
A total of 91 pedestrians crossed Beach Drive at 11th Avenue N and within a block north and south of this intersection. No more than 13 pedestrians crossed in any one hour, whereas the TEM requires at least 20 in any 2-hour period. In addition, there were large gaps in traffic between platoons of vehicles where pedestrians crossed safely without conflict.
Therefore based on these observations we can not recommend installation of a new pedestrian crosswalk at this time.

Tee City follows the Florida Department of Transportation standards for implementation of crosswalks. See: 3.8 https://www.fdot.gov/traffic/trafficservices/Studies/TEM/TEM.shtm
We will review this location to determine if conditions meet standard and report the results here when completed.
