The a water is not draining off the road and is freezing with the cold temps. It is very dangerous and hard to get up the winding hill safely. Can more salt/sand be out down each night? I do not know what can be done but it is very dangerous. Bus was stuck there in the begging of he week. Thank you

Agree - when going down Cannon, I am worried oncoming cars will slide on ice, coming around curve, into my lane

This Fall, which has been recorded as the wettest in history, has resulted in road and property flooding in areas that have not previously experienced flooding. This is occurring across Wilton and the neighboring communities. One of the consequences is that some roads are having water seepage that can freeze and create potentially hazardous conditions.

One of the roads where this is occurring is Cannon Road. I have heard from a number of people that this water flow started before the wet fall but after construction in the area started. Because of the repeated comments, my office will go back and review all of the documents associated with the construction to determine if there is something obvious happening. We will review any documents from P&Z and the Building Department as well as our own DPW records.

At some point, we may need to look at the properties themselves. I have no way of knowing whether the comments made are anecdotal or factual, but given the number of times that I have heard them, it would be irresponsible of me to ignore them.

It seems that if there can’t be an immediate solution to this VERY DANGEROUS situation, the Town should CLOSE thus stretch of road. DPW has clearly not been there today. Almost noon now. Unfathomable how bad it is today. Truly. Please lay down metal plates or wood. Anything.

Please, it is now almost april; what is being done to fix this problem?

Once the water level had lowered, DPW was able to scope and partially clear a pipe. Flooding did not occur during the most recent rainstorm, which may mean the issue this winter was caused by the blockage. Further work to be done to fully clear the pipe.
