I complained about this before and the police just brushed it off I followed a TP officer and he drove right by 4 cars parked on the sidewalk and he went to the resource center so I know he wasnt on the way to a call.

Yes I find it super frustrating that the TPD doesn’t think this is an issue. Once again the TPD has found yet another problem item to brush aside. It sure would stop these people from parking there if they were ticketed. I know if I’d do it I’d for sure get a ticket :/

I agree this should be a police issue.

The police havent done anything about in the 6 months we started complaining about it once I saw a motorcycle officer there giving tickets and the same people just keep parking there.
As I stated above the police just drive right by there and do nothing when there are cars there.
I have always said if the small things are taken care of then the big things wouldn't happen because people would know everything is being watched. This parking situation is no different than all the jaywalking that happens on that road and yet nothing is done about that either.

Why is this so hard to get taken care of ? Is parking illegal on sidewalks? Yes, ok well there for they are breaking the law. Not to mention they also park and leave cars next to the grocery store on 140th as well. Why are they able to break the law repeatedly and nothing is done ? I, Tukwila needs to get their act together and figure out how to address these issues. Because a wheelchair user and a mother shouldn’t have to vacate the sidewalk to get around these stupid cars. Anyways this particular group of people just do what they want, why have laws anyways if we don’t stop them from breaking the ones that should be enforced. Apparently Jose, Laura and I are the only ones who see this is wrong and should be dealt with.

Some of the citizens of this city feel they're above the law and they are the ones who should get more than just a slap on the wrist. They are breaking laws that should be enforced by local policemen and dealt with in the proper fashion instead of being brushed off. What is happening to law enforcement in Tukwila anyway? People are still standing out in the middle of Boeing Access Road and interfering with traffic while panhandling. Why isn't this area being patrolled more?

Sooo... what do we need to do to get this matter taken care of obviously this is an issue and seems like no one wants to deal with it through the proper channels ? City council meetings? This app??

I personally dont have any confidence in our police, code enforcement nor the city council with solving anything.
There is person on NJ our street that has built on the city right of way I took pictures turned it in and so did someone else yet nothing was done just case closed as was my first complaint months ago about this parking. I am not the only one to have reported this parking situation and yet it is still here.
How can these businesses get a business license if they do not have adequate parking this is one thing that caused the live butcher to close up thier store.

What this city really needs is a bigger Police Force and less spending on areas that should not be taking priority over protecting the rights of the citizens of the city. Time that the taxpayers stand up and be heard and get the Mayor's attention once and for all. How many of these complaints fall through the cracks and are never dealt with. Seems like too many.

There are so many parking infractions in this city now what we need is a parking enforcement officer or 2.

Sounds like it's time to speak directly with Mayor Ekberg. You're right about the Police Department needing more than just a couple of people on the Parking Enforcement. They should really open their doors and allow for people to apply and be accepted as new Police Officers. They need more enforcements out there.

I see this got closed without any permanent resolution I donf understand how so many times that we are told nobody is seen parked there yet when I drive by there anytime after noon almost 80% of the time there are cars parked there yesterday they were parked all the way past the fence on the lot north of these businesses.
I have called 911 and waited across the street to see if anyone shows up but after a half hour I finally leave. This situation needs a permanent resolution if it means closing these businesses down for inadequate parking.
Sorry very frustrating to see almost all the complaints made most dont get any permanent resolution.

Are you sure they really care? I believe they don't have enough people to go around. They really should open their doors and hire more Police Officers.
