The City of Cambridge claims it is not their issue. The lot (aka MEMORIAL PLAZA - Property # 1721) is owned and managed by KIMCO REALTY. The name of the Property Manager is TRACY PERRON.

Back in November, I emailed her with PHOTOS of cars and pedestrians splashing through the area.
She never answered.
A Trader Joe's rumor (for what it's worth) is that a truck was seen working on unclogging the drain, obviously to no avail.
PLEASE get in touch with Ms Perron and raise hell. Maybe YOU will have an impact. Best.

This issue has definitely been reported before but I can't remember what the resolution was.

Doesn't the City of Cambridge maintain a pre existing right of way through that parking lot? Cambridge should be able to order the management company to remedy the problem immediately. It is BAD. It is the equivalent of not clearly snow or treating icy sidewalks and parking lots. A fine is in order.

I have reported this before and received a snide response. Yes it has private businesses using the parking lot, but Riverside Road which runs along the Microcenter building from Memorial Drive to Magazine St is an official City street and refused to sell it to the former property owners of Stop & Shop Corp. so that they could build a bigger store on site. Their refusal was one of the reasons Stop & Shop left Cambridgeport. So again Riverside Road belongs to the City of Cambridge though the parking lot is private and belongs to the businesses. Why can’t both the City and businesses work together for the safety of all that travel on or past it?

Wouldn't it be better to leave the issue open until the problem is fixed? When will the project repair take place?

Agreed as this has been ongoing for years now let’s keep our eyes on it! Thank you Cambridge Public Works for stepping up! :-)! Happy to close once drain has been cleared Cambridge drains are brutal!
