This is a very valid comment. It is dangerous when cars are speeding up the hill when you are trying to turn left onto Peeler.

A prioritized work order is in place for this issue. Repairs will take place according to their priority. Thank you for your patience.

We need a way to slow cars down on Peeler especially near Lurya and Cherring where folks cross to Brook Run. What about a crossing median as they put on No Peachtree. At a minimum a a crosswalk!

The Dunwoody Police Department has been notified of the speeding concern. A crosswalk is planned near Cherring Drive when the sidewalk is constructed on the south side of Peeler Road. The sidewalk and crosswalk design has been completed and will be considered for construction funding along with other competing priorities in 2020.

Not until 2020!? This request should not wait. I’ve been asking for this for years now and keep getting this put off. And speaking of side-walks, the last thing we need is a sidewalk on south side of Peeler from No P’tree to Cherring Dr. there is already an 8 ft cement walk a few feet south. Many trees were cut down for this. We have a sidewalk on north side of Peeler . This is sufficient. Save that money an put a cross walk in 2019 and some cross walk medians to slow cars down please

Speeding is bad. I've lived on this road for almost 20 years. Commuters pass on double yellow lines. Some of them will play chicken with you when you try to cross Peeler, others don't pay attention.

And why do we need another sidewalk on Peeler? There is already the very pleasant 12 foot wide sidewalk from Cherring along Peeler to North Peachtree. Similar to Chastain Park, the Brook Run sidewalk is offset from the main road and is a pleasant walk. Try walking on the sidewalk which already exists on Peeler and see how terrible that feels. It's too close to fast car traffic.

Also a new sidewalk on the south side of Peeler will remove another wide swath of trees. In some places, it is the only buffer left for the park. It will be parallel sidewalks maybe 15 feet apart. It's a waste of money and canopy.

I completely agree that there is a lot of speeding and also there is an immediate need for

1. Speed bump around Cherring and Peeler
2. Cross walk at Cherring to the park
3. NO need for a sidewalk on the south side of Peeler where it would literally be a few feet from the park cement trail. We NEED the trees. There have been way too many trees cut down already in the park, and the park is losing its amazing small park charm.

We have children and it is dangerous that these issues are being pushed off for execution in 2020. PLEASE address it immediately not in 2020.

Living on Peeler is like an old school game of Frogger for those that remember that game. It takes me anywhere from 5-10 minutes to get out of my driveway on any weekday morning unless there’s a considerate driver that chooses to slow down and let me out. Most drivers take peeler because it’s mostly a straight away at speeds I want to guess of 60 mph. I have kids and won’t let them cross to go to the park or walk home from the middle school because of the dangers speeders on Peeler. Consideration was taken on North Peachtree and speeding precautions were taken, why can’t the same be done for Peeler as it to is an artery for people cutting through from PIB.

We do not need a sidewalk on the other side of Peeler. (It would be nice if the city better maintained the one sidewalk on Peeler we already have). A side walk on the other side will only remove more trees between the road and the park. It is redundant and a waste of money. I fully agree that a cross walk would be a wonderful addition near the Cherring Road turn. It may help with the speeding problem as well. Please reconsider sidewalks on this stretch of park.

OK, so just this morning about 8:15 AM, a speeding car (this time a 2 door silver BMW passed down the hill from Cherring Ln to Cherring Dr on a double yellow line in front of my house. (I think all of Peeler is double yellow.) We also often get aggressive drivers on our bumpers when we pull out of our driveways. They come up on you quick at that speed and don't slow down.

This will be catastrophic one day. Kids and families cross from both Cherring Dr and Ln and Luray to Brook Run Park for the Middle School, the park, and Ga State College. There are Marta bus stops around.

Police radar would have a great place to sit on either Luray or Cherring Dr.

We need Police and crosswalks for resident and public safety. A 60 mph crash will be a catastrophe.

Yes, Rock, you're right. We will indeed be an increasing number of catastrophes on our roads and streets as long as the City Council ignores the problem and makes it so difficult to make adjustments to roads to make them safer. Even N. Peachtree with its new additions is still far too easy for speeders to ignore. They can be seen ignoring the new islands and sailing as fast as ever straight over their curbs. It's disturbing that aggressive driving is made so easy, but it's downright disgusting that the City of Dunwoody refuses to admit the problem and do something better about it all.

This is a matter for DPD.

Steve, I disagree. This it is not merely a matter of speeding, but of traffic. Our request is for a crosswalk with a median or speed bump to be placed at points where parents with babies,/children, and me with my dog , commonly cross over to access BrookRun.

Funding to construct the sidewalk on Peeler and a crossing to the park has been requested in the 2020 budget. Options for integrating the Brook Run path into the sidewalk are being evaluated. The budget request will be reviewed by the city council over the next two months.
