  Just called the City and was advised the property owner of the vacant lot (2933 Harrison Street) was notified in 2016 about the tree. It appears the City will not enforce safety measures to abate a hazardous condition. Seems so familiar.....potential fatalities and the City turns a blind eye. .As a property owner on Harrison Street, I'm now trying to reach a person of authority to address this matter. We pay so much in property taxes... We demand action.

  The City PWD will not do anything. You will need to file the complaint with code enforcement 238-3381. It take a week for the inspector to come out and they have to give the property owners 30 days to respond. keep your complaint number handy and find out who your inspector is. If nothing happens in 6 week call them back. The more of your concerned neighbors that file complaints. Has anyone called PG&E??? You are right Oakland is a re-actively run city always waiting for the worse and then screaming if we only knew.

  Hello David: I just contacted PG & E and plan on submitting a formal complaint with the City. Sadly, NO LIVES MATTER in the eyes of the City. Yet, the City is receiving millions from new property owners, who have paid thousands and thousands over the asking price on their Oakland property. Sorry to vent. However, I am so frustrated with the City. Thank you for your support and guidance.

  My neighbors and I called the City of Oakland and PG & E - No favorable responses from either party. PG & E states the tree is not a hazard until the tree hits the main power line. The City states the tree is not decayed and is not willing to contact or follow up with the property owner for the overgrown vegetation. My neighbors and I can't believe we are unable to obtain any cooperation from either parties.

  Please contact the property owner to trim or you and as many concerned neighbors as possible to contact code enforcement 238-3381as this tree is on private property. The City has been in reactive mode for a long time and likes to wait for the worse before doing anything. I completely agree about how our some of our elected officials and most of the Dept heads treat the the taxpaying public. They seem to forget they work for us not the other way around.

  Unfortunately, the City is so unresponsive. I doubt that they sent the letter to the property owner's family to address the overgrown weeds decayed tree and other trees on the property. My neighbors and I are unable to contact the property owner's family, who resides in San Francisco. Rumor has it that the family will sell the property (lot) once it reaches $2 million. In the meantime, the hazardous condition is not abated until there is a fatality. Then, the City will reactive....

  Why does the City fail to remove this leaning tree or contact the property owners to eliminate this hazard? Also, there are now several tree branches and logs in the backyard on this property from a tree chopped up, which needs to be hauled away...Definitely a fire hazard, which can be prevented.

  When will you remove this tree or demand that the property owner at the least trim the tree? The City demands my property taxes to be paid timely though I am unable to obtain any response from your department. Please abate this hazardous condition.
