There are numerous signs telling drivers to not half turn onto Wynsom but they are ignored. Mountain Gap school drivers turn onto Wynsom and drive too fast and use our driveways as turnarounds. My mailbox has been hit repeatedly from drivers using the driveway across the street. The principal of Mountain Gap has been contacted repeatedly to advise the drivers that this is NOT the route they are supposed to take. Mountain Gap school drivers have caused dangerous conditions and need to be ticketed.

This morning when leaving for work around 7:40 AM, my husband was greeted by 3 vehicles from Mt. Gap school traffic blocking the entire entrance and exit to our street. The three vehicles were making U-turns at the entrance to Wynsom Drive SE and blocked all incoming and outgoing traffic. A fourth vehicle blocked traffic from Mt. Gap onto Chaney Thompson because that driver was planning on the same maneuver.

The careless behavior of these drivers continues to endanger other drivers s well as pedestrians who might be on the nearby sidewalk when one of them causes an accident.

I will either re-open and continue adding to this incident or open a new one every time I see things like this happen. Our neighborhood has repeatedly asked for help regarding this and has received minimal assistance from law enforcement, even though many laws are being broken. We have received minimal assustance from Mt. Gap school in helping resolve the issue as well.

Students must use all the basic rules of behavior on the road. I am sure that the students are not looking at the right resources on the Internet. They use the Internet for non-educational purposes. The city continues to ignore speeding, reckless driving, loud mufflers and illegal u-turns no matter how many times we report it. Should we take matters into our own hands and build our own speed bumps?

Lt. Danley has advised that the Traffic Services Unit worked this area multiple times and all traffic laws are being followed. He has asked that he be contacted at 256-427-5580 to further address the concerns listed. Thank you.

Please take pictures of license plates IF you can get them. This is ridiculous that drivers continue to violate the law and create hazards for students and homeowners.
