Right, 7-9 am and 4-6 pm. The city should be more active in ticketing cars or towing repeat offenders. This is more of an issue when you cross Peace St and cars are still parked in the right lane from bar business. White Lambourghini, I'm talking about you. I'm happy to see cars parked there at all hours other than the posted rush hour commute times because it slows traffic and creates a protective barrier for pedestrians on the sidewalk. Closing the lane at 9am on a weekday is pure selfishness. Many elementary schools (including Underwood) are still in the middle of drop-off at 9am since their bells are at 9:15. These parents are now being punished by major back ups when someone blocks the right lane. 9am is still rush hour headed to downtown. And I have parking enforcement for Raleigh on speed dial for the posted no parking times 919-996-3996. Please call them when you see a car parked during no parking times.

Thanks for the number SammyB. I've let the parked cars slide so many times. Last year, I would estimate it happened 2 times per week on good weeks or up to 4-5 days on bad ones. It's dangerous for the volume of traffic during the prohibited times, and frustrating to say the least. City of Raleigh, you would make so much money ticketing there during those hours. More importantly, please hold parking offenders in our community accountable for endangering public safety.

Made a call to parking enforcement last week for parked vehicles in the southbound lane around 4:50 pm.
