Description
There is still an ongoing drainage problem coming from the property located at 876 Shore Acres Road. They are discharging sump or stormwater from the side of their property into the right-of-way, causing extremely icy conditions along Shore Acres Road on a very steep hill. This condition is causing dangerous situations for drivers going up and down that hill and unfortunately, there is only one way out of the neighborhood for those who live past the split, so there is no way around this dangerous situation. Several neighbors have filed complaints for several years. but the condition still exists. We need the County to intervene and resolve this issue since it affects the public right-of-way.

My apologies for the late reply.
After an investigation from Right-of-Way Management, it was determined there was no violation made and the discharge coming from 876 Shore Acres is within its limits. Please note, although unfortunate, there are times when rain falls faster than it drains, causing it to seem as though there is an issue with the drainage system when in fact it isn’t. Also, during times when the temperature is below freezing, it causes issues like the one all spoke of in this request—water draining in the County’s Right- of-Way then freezing.
With that, if this has been an ongoing problem, and what I’ve stated does not suffice, please contact Right of Way Management directly (https://www.aacounty.org/services-and-programs/right-of-way-permit) at 410-222-7344 or via email pwcust00@aacounty.org. In closing, the next time the issue arises; take photos and email them to the email address listed stating your concern so whomever is reviewing has a visual.
Thank you.
