I hope this does not move forward. Admiral is a private school, and a large percentage of students board at the school. Those that do not board are picked up by vehicles in the car pickup circle on campus. It is bad enough that the city added a school zone with lights on 5 ave north. Absolutely ZERO children are seen exiting school property either walking, or biking on 5th ave no. But. I have personally witnessed the St.Pete PD use this school zone to set speed traps since it was added a few years ago. I can't endorse slowing the speed of vehicles just because we call it a school. The litmus test should be, is there sufficient numbers of children exiting/entering school property either on foot or bike to warrant the concern for their safety! I have lived a block from Admiral for 20 years. I know of what I speak.
