Someone or something did quite the amount of damage to the concrete base and anchor bolts. The whole concrete base needs to be replaced. This is not practical until the ground thaws in spring.

Update and progress much appreciated. This has been a dangerous situation all winter and spring. Is there any way the remaining light can be made to work while we're waiting for the replacement of the one that was damaged?

You would think that the loss of one wouldn't affect the other. I don't think we purposely turned the remaining one off - no reason or desire to. Each side communicates to the other through radio. I have a single set on my desk and am trying to get it to flash without radio, to use it at Pearl & Church with the existing buttons. So far, no luck. The radio appears to insist on checking in with the other before allowing itself to flash. Very strange, not my design. Unfortunately, the short answer appears to be no. When the missing one is restored, they will both have to be powered down and reset so they can look for and "see" each other again.

Please restore asap as this is a crosswalk used by children to get to a park across a road that is often very busy. Thank you!

This turned into quite the project. It should have been a matter of pulling the old cement base out and putting the new one into the empty hole. Found that the old one was surrounded by a sea of poured concrete. The contractor jackhammered a foot thickness of concrete away from the base and still could not free it. Decision was made to straighten existing anchor bolts and replace and reform the broken concrete around them. This was done Wednesday. Put the pole up yesterday. The replaced (east) pole worked, the west pole did not. Did not have a ladder to reach the elevated box at the top of the pole. The signal technician went there later and found the radio was not working and replaced it. As of yesterday, both were working. Some minor issues remain that will be addressed today, but at this point we can call this one done. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
